Hackathon 2022 │ Building our future products
As an annual company event, Neonomics Hackathon was held on 12-14 October 2022, and the whole company had the annual opportunity to create new products and features!
Our hackathon wasn’t limited to engineering and coding. We included everyone, from engineering to marketing, product to sales – different perspectives to contribute to new ideas. At the end of our 3 days hackathon, the top 3 ideas won prizes, and the team who proposed the winning idea is now working one day per week to make it come to life!
Hackathon Agenda
- People submitted their ideas before the hackathon, and could recruit diverse teams of up to 8 members interested to work on this idea
- People were encouraged to build teams with diverse skills set
- Then the teams had 2,5 days to get to work!
- Afternoon of the final day: presentations and prizes!
The Prizes:
🥇20 000NOK to be shared among the group members. Group indoor skydiving, and a gift card for an individual 90-minute massage at a spa
🥈 Group dinner for the value of 1500NOK per person
🥉 Half day off work to go on a group activity for 1000NOK per person

“Long story short, the hackathon this year was (according to all) a huge success and you know what ?! We might even host it twice a year! Hackathon is about implementing a new and innovative idea that you care about, presenting it to the company and winning a prize, but at Neonomics it was also about learning, networking, working with new people outside of your inner circle, making an impact, getting better as a team and taking part on an outstanding journey all together. It is also a place where you can do EVERYTHING! There are no limits (only the sky is the limit)!
People were having more fun as they were trying something new and getting out of their comfort zone, going wild and suggesting everything which came to their mind. This year was a bit special because we wanted the hackathonners to build a project linked to our OKRs and keeping our eyes on what is going on in the market and what are the current and futures needs of us customers.”
The Neonomics Hackathon created an environment where we can pull different backgrounds and perspectives together, promote new ideas and think outside the box. We’re excited for the next one in 2023, and to go even further!
