This month, we kicked off our annual Hackathon — two action-packed days where creativity, collaboration, and technology collide. What made this year extra special? It was our first Hackathon as a united team with our newly acquired UK crew on board!

The Challenges 🚀

With our mission to build innovative, reliable, and AI-driven financial products that make it easier to manage, save, and pay, we focused this year’s Hackathon around two big questions:

🔧 Challenge 1: Build AI for Internal Superpowers
How can we use AI to make our work lives better? Teams looked for real, everyday pain points across the business — the kind that slow us down or waste time — and built smart solutions to fix them. Whether in ops, compliance, support, or marketing, the goal was to free up time and brainspace for the work that really matters.

🧠 Challenge 2: Reimagine Nello AI
We asked teams to take Nello AI — our tool built on transaction data — back to the drawing board. The challenge was to design a concept that helps financial institutions deliver more value to users through personalized insights, smarter product recommendations, and next-best actions. Think: a financial co-pilot that actually understands behavior and offers something useful in the moment.

7 Teams. 2 Days. Big Ideas.

Over the course of 48 hours, seven cross-functional teams came together to brainstorm, build, and pitch their concepts — from working demos and user flows to bold new use cases for AI. Some zeroed in on internal efficiency; others explored how we could elevate the Nello experience in ways we hadn’t thought of before.

At the heart of it all was a shared vision: A world where financial well-being is effortless and accessible to all.
